Barbara Ellen Clemens, 65, of Claysville, died Monday, November 17, 2008, in her residence, following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 18, 1943, in Washington, a daughter of Henry and Mary Dailey Whiteman.
Mrs. Clemens was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her children and grandchildren.
She was Protestant.
On September 22, 1984, she married Floyd C. Clemens, who died January 30, 2000.
Surviving are a son, Floyd “J.R.” (Angela) Clemens of Washington; a daughter, Darla Clemens of Claysville; three sisters, Hilda McVeigh, Stella Whiteman and Martha Kolano, all of Washington; six grandchildren, Robert, Sunni, Kayla, Bridget, Steven and Nathan Clemens; and two great-grandchildren, Sierra Clemens and Caleb Clark.
Deceased are two brothers, Charles and Richard Whiteman; two sisters, Ruth Cole and Ida Jenkins; and three grandchildren, Brian, Adam and Isaac Hartzell.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, in William G. Neal Funeral homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 21st. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
