Member of First Church of the Nazarene. Marian Jean Hawkins, 48, of Washington, died unexpectedly at 1:41 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2005, in the emergency room of Washington Hospital. She was born July 3, 1957, in Washington, a daughter of the late Edwin Paul Jr. and Thelma Jean Smith Gregg. Mrs. Hawkins attended Washington High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene on Hart Avenue, Washington. Mrs. Hawkins enjoyed her grandchildren and solving word search puzzles. On January 3, 1980, she married Lowe M. Hawkins Sr., who survives. Also surviving are a son, Lowe M. Hawkins Jr. of Washington; three daughters, Jody Smith of Washington, Dawn Brock of Washington and Kristin Seng of Avella; two brothers, Charles Gregg of West Virginia and Robert Gregg of Canonsburg; two sisters, Gloria Miller of Somerset and Barbara Gaito of Canonsburg; and 13 grandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Christine McElhaney; and a grandson, Lowe Michael Hawkins III. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 31. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
