Carol “Edna” Muhr Boring, 60, of Washington, died Wednesday, August 12, 2009, in Donnell House. She had been ill since May 2009.
She was born September 29, 1948, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Raymond and Harriett Custer Muhr.
Mrs. Boring was a graduate of Hampton High School, in Pittsburgh, and the University of Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Boring was an electrical engineer for the U. S. Government for thirty-four years, and co-owned and operated Star Computer Systems in Washington for three years.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Washington.
On September 6, 1975, she married Robert Charles Boring, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Shannon R. Boring and Brandon M. (Christina) Boring, both of Washington, and adoptive son, Christopher (Melissa) Smith, of Claysville; two step grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Dianne Muhr; a nephew, Michael Muhr and wife Lori, and their daughter Cassandra Lynn.
Deceased is a brother, Dennis Muhr.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. There will be no visitation on Sunday. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2009, at the funeral home, with Rev. Doctor Kenneth Schott officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. It is suggested that memorial contributions be sent to the family in care of William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd.
