Dona L. Buckholt, 68, of Houston, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, in Donnell House. She had been ill since December.
She was born October 13, 1938, in Monongahela, a daughter of Jack Horner and Fay Dickie Thompson.
Mrs. Buckholt was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Charleroi. She was a high school graduate and a homemaker.
Mrs. Buckholt was a member of Silver Bits 4-H Club and Canonsburg Youth Sportsman Club. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping in Elk County, and all outdoor activities.
On September 15, 1961, she married James Robert Buckholt, Jr., who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, James W. (Tina) Buckholt, of West Alexander, and Jack Buckholt, of Houston; two daughters, Lora (Mike) White, of Clarksville, and Lynda (Raymond) Recktenwald, of Houston; a sister, Bonnie F. Pruse, of New Haven, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Casey and Cody White, Ethan and Chris Recktendwald, and Dona “Lizâ€쳌 and Josh Buckholt.
Deceased are a grandson, James R. Buckholt, III, and a brother, Jack W. Thompson.
Friends will be received 3 to 9 p.m., Friday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 26, 2007, with the Rev. Robert Colvin officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
