William Richard Rogers

Member of Broad Street Baptist Church, Washington William Richard Rogers, 75, of Waterford, N.Y., formerly of Washington, died Friday, January 6, 2006, in St. Mary's Hospital, Troy, N.Y. He was born October 8, 1930, in Grafton, W.Va., a son of Lawrence Thomas and Bessie Dillia Morgan Rogers. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Rogers was a member of Broad Street Baptist Church, Washington, and American Legion Post 945. On January 17, 1955, he married Evelyn Ruscello, who died July 2, 2002. Surviving are a daughter, Marjorie (James) Adkins of Waterford, N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Sarah and Brian Adkins. Deceased are a brother, Thomas Rogers; and five sisters, Roberta Lewis, Virginia Gorby, Frances Leigh, Doris Garner and Grace Longstreath. All are invited to a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 14, in Chapel at Forest Lawn Gardens Cemetery, McMurray, with James Adkins officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
