Worked at Meadow Lands ARC workshop and McDonald's
David Reed Swart, 55, of Washington, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2005, in his residence, following a lingering illness.
He was born May 25, 1950, in Washington, a son of the late Samuel Reed Swart and Nancy Elliott Swart Lang.
For the past six years, he resided at Washington-Greene ARS.
Mr. Swart attended Clark School.
He attended Sunday school at Calvary Temple and worked at the ARC workshop in Meadow Lands and at McDonald's on Race Track Road.
Mr. Swart was an honorary sergeant in the Marine Corps.
Surviving are his stepmother, Ruth Elliott Swart of Washington; a sister, Linda Swart of The Colony, Texas; two stepsisters, Amy Hatfield of Amity and Karla Richards of Washington; a stepbrother, David Rice of Bentleyville; several nieces and nephews; and a great-niece and a great-nephew.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, with Pastor Jean Staffa officiating. Burial will follow in Amity United Methodist Church Cemetery. Memorial donations in his name may be made to Washington-Greene Alternative Residential Services, 621 North Main St., Washington, PA 15301.
