John H. Fuchs, Jr.

July 7, 1930 — November 10, 2005

John H. Fuchs, Jr., 75, of Washington, died at 5:38 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2005, in his residence following an eighteen month illness. He was born July 7, 1930, in Czechoslovakia, a son of John H., Sr. and Beatrice Fuchs. Mr. Fuchs served in the US Air Force in Korea during the Korean War. He was a high school graduate. Mr. Fuchs worked as a truck driver and shipping and receiving clerk at Washington Mould, Machine and Foundry for 40 years and also worked at Wal-Mart for nine years. He was a former president and secretary of the Foundry and Glass and Moulders Local 337. Mr. Fuchs was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bowling and bowled at Alpine Lanes on the Bob Hollick Insurance Team for 30 years. Mr. Fuchs also coached indoor soccer teams for both the Brownson House and YMCA. On November 22, 1968, he married Carolyn Lee Greene, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Kenneth John Fuchs of Washington; one daughter, Kimberly Susan Fuchs (Dennis) Jenkins of Eighty-Four; three grandchildren, Jacquelyn and Stephany Jenkins and Savannah Fuchs; and a sister and nephew in Germany. Friends will be received Saturday from 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 9:00 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Anne Howe officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 357 East Maiden Street, Washington, PA 15301 or to the American Lung Association of PA, 11676 Perry Highway, Suite 2104, Wexford, PA 15090.
