Washington homemaker
Mary Lou Eva Spease, 66, of Washington, died at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2006, in her residence. She had been ill since April 2005.
She was born February 16, 1939, in Washington, a daughter of the late Raymond Thornton and Ida Eva Schrader Garber.
Mrs. Spease was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On January 25, 1958, she married George Amos Spease, who died June 24, 1994.
Surviving are two sons, George J. Garber of Claysville and Bruce Spease of Washington; three daughters, Bonnie Lou Post, Betty Yater and Brenda (Brian) Baumgardner, all of Washington; two brothers, Glenn "Buzz" Garber of Jefferson and James (Jim) Garber of Washington; three sisters, Elsie Jenkins of Carmichaels, Laura Wilhoft of Jefferson and Thelma Jenkins of Marianna; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Ronald Edward Spease; and two brothers, Raymond David "Buck" Garber and William Robert "Hock" Garber.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 13, with Leslie Hutchins officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
