Robert M. “ Bob “ Miller, 81, of Washington, died Friday, August 12, 2005, in the Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Washington on June 17, 1924, a son of Henry and Barbara Sheets Miller. He was retired after 23 years as a truck driver for Forbes Steel.
Mr. Miller was Catholic by faith.
He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army having served in the European Theater. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with four Bronze Stars.
He is a member of the American Legion Post # 175, and the Pulaski Club. Mr. Miller enjoyed camping, spending time with his family, and followed both the Pirates and Steelers.
On June 11, 1949, he married Marilyn Loughman who survives.
Also surviving are; two sons, Robert Miller, Jr., of Washington and Terry Miller of McDonald; two daughters, Cynthia Hunt and Candice Ingersoll both of Washington; three grandchildren, Daryl Zimmerman, Robert Miller, and Billy Ingersoll; and one great grandchild.
Preceding him in death are six brothers, Bernard, Henry, Richard, Charles, Lawrence, and Gerald; and five sisters, Frances Prowitt, Clara Ruschell, Mildred Revella, Madeline Ann Frazee, and Elvira Thompson.
Friends of Robert M. “ Bob “ Miller, 81, of Washington, who died Friday, August 12, 2005, will be received on Sunday, from 7 to 9 pm and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2005, at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Full military honors graveside by Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175, American Legion.
