John F. Ferguson, 67, of Washington, formerly of Butler, died at 7:55 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2008, in the Forbes Hospice Center, Oakland, following a one-year illness.
He was born November 30, 1940, in Connellsville, a son of the late John and Myrtle Ferguson.
Mr. Ferguson was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. In his free time he enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, and spending time with his dog, Trouble. He also enjoyed sporting activities with his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Ferguson formerly worked as a union bridge painter and for Vogel Disposal, and, for 37 years, was a self-employed registered master plumber and heating and air conditioning contractor.
Surviving are his wife, Joanna Patricia Merrell Ferguson, whom he married August 8, 1970, seven children, John Ferguson, Jr. of Butler, Sharon Rabold of Mars, Jennifer Ferguson of Houston, Jessica Ament of Washington, Judd Ferguson of Butler, Jackie Marshman of Washington and Janette Osche of Washington; and 15 grandchildren.
Deceased are an infant son, James Ferguson, and a brother Buck Ohler.
A private memorial service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
