Jack Mousetis

Retired Merchant Marine with more than 20 years of service. Jack Mousetis, 79, of Fort Washington, N.Y., died Saturday, August 6, 2005, in Sun Harbor Heights, Roslyn, N.Y., after a six-month illness. He was born March 13, 1926, in Washington, a son of Xenophon and Angela Leventis Mousetis. Mr. Mousetis was a seaman in the Merchant Marines and retired after more than 20 years of service. He served in the both Atlantic and Pacific war zones and received the Merchant Marine emblem, honorable service button and Pacific war zone medal. He attended Greek Orthodox Church. Surviving are three brothers, Stanley Mousetis of Plum Boro, Roy Mousetis of the state of Oklahoma and George Mousetis of Boise, Idaho; and a sister, Lee Blanas of San Diego, Calif. Deceased are two brothers, Leonidas and Harry Mousetis; and a sister, Morthea Andrews. Friends will be received by the family at the Serenity Chapel of the Washington Cemetery on Wednesday, August 10, 2005, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at which time services will be held with Pastor Esley Patsch officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
