Retired Eighty Four Agway store manager.
Lonnie (Jack) Amon, 76, of Washington, died at 7:50 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2005, in his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born December 29, 1928, in Washington, a son of Jacob Alonzo and Margaret Zoe Bedillion Amon.
Mr. Amon attended Washington schools and worked at Agway in Eighty Four for 47 years, retiring as store manager.
He enjoyed Washington High School football.
On January 23, 1948, he married Shirley Jean Van Houten, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jack (Linda) Amon of Washington and Lonnie Dale (Deborah) Amon of Washington; a daughter, Jean (Tee Jay) Sexton of Muncy, Ind.; three grandchildren, Amy Rench, David White and Steven Amon; six great-grandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are a granddaughter, Tammy Lynn White; two sisters, Nellie Williams and Margaret Amon; and three brothers, Sam Amon, Frank Amon Sr. and an infant brother.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 22, with the Rev. Donald Amon officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
