Earl Henry Yater Jr., 46, of Holbrook, formerly of Center Township, died Tuesday, December 13, 2005, in Washington Hospital, following a brief illness. He was born October 10, 1959, in Washington, a son of Delores Victoria Yater of Washington and the late Earl Henry Yater Sr. Mr. Yater was a self-employed freight driver. He enjoyed dogs, fishing, camping and hunting with bows, rifles and muzzleloaders. He was a member of North American Hunting Club. Mr. Yater was Protestant and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. On August 2, 2002, he married Pamela Lea Graham, who survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Jennifer Rose (Jeff) Yater, Victoria Dee (Jason) Barney, Amanda Mae Yater, Ginger Marie Strope and Kimberly Anne (James) Johnson, all of Washington; a brother, David Wayne Yater of Washington; three sisters, Delores Jean (Leslie) Hutchins, Margaret Lynn Martin and Ethel Marie (Randy) Rush, all of Washington; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Brian Little, Tamika Lynn Little, Caleb Earl "Little Earl" Little, Joseph Lee Johnson III, Sheridan Johnson and Savannah Johnson; two nephews, whom he raised, Jake and Charlie Post; and several other nieces and nephews. Deceased are a brother, William Taft Holmes III; and a sister, Lesley Ann Yater.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, December 15, in the funeral home, with Leslie Hutchins officiating.
