Dorothy Pearl Parkinson O'Neill, 83, of Washington, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2005, in her home following a lengthy illness. She was born October 7, 1922, in Morgantown, W.Va., a daughter of William and Ida Shimer Robertson. Mrs. O'Neill attended Washington High School and was a member of Washington Presbyterian Church. She was employed by Bobbie Brooks for more than 20 years. Mrs. O'Neill enjoyed and loved her grandchildren and liked doing word search and needlework. In 1942, she married Glenn "Buddy" Parkinson, who died in 1966. On November 8, 1969, she married James Francis O'Neill, who died May 28, 1989. Surviving are a son, Robert Parkinson (Maude) of Washington; two daughters, Pamela Johnson (Charles) of Washington and Linda Sue Sico (Michael) of Plymouth, Mass.; two brothers, Eddie Robertson of Florida and Bob Robertson of Washington; two sisters, Eva Stock of Washington and Dolores Davis of Newton Falls, Ohio; six grandchildren, Sara Johnson, Jason, Jimmy and Charles Megyesy and Ryan and Kate Parkinson; five great-grandchildren, Dylan and Jessica Megyesy, Jimmy and Brittany Megyesy and Brandon Kubacki. Deceased are a daughter, Sally Megyesy; a granddaughter, Michelle Megyesy; four sisters, Mary, Eleanore, Betty and Alice Baker; and four brothers, Jack, Billy, George and Joe Robertson.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 21, with Pastor Donald Waltmeyer officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens Cemetery, McMurray.
