Richard Lee Brown, 71, of Washington, died Saturday, November 12, 2005, in his home. He had been in declining health for four years.
He was born June 5, 1934, in Washington, a son of Benjamin H. and Leona Jinkens Brown.
Mr. Brown worked at Jessop Steel for more than 30 years.
He attended Washington High School.
Mr. Brown enjoyed playing cards and was a member of Jessop and Alpine clubs, where he participated in a bowling league.
Surviving are a son, Richard L. Brown II of Washington; a stepdaughter, Mindy Ike of Washington; two brothers, James Howard Brown of Leetonia, Ohio, and Benjamin Robert Brown of Salem, Ohio; a sister, Carol Brown of Washington; two grandchildren, Erika Lee Brown and Kelli Jo McCarty; three stepgrandchildren, Courtney, Ryan and Jordan; a great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 17, followed by interment in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
