Velma Loretta Beck, 88, of Washington, died Tuesday, November 29, 2005, in Washington Hospital, following a brief illness.
She was born April 26, 1917, in Washington, a daughter of James I. and Mary Frances Wolfe Seaman.
Mrs. Beck was a graduate of Trinity High School and a member of Trinity Bible Fellowship.
She worked as a clerk at Dunlevy Market.
On November 22, 1937, she married Harry Beck, who died March 28, 1992.
Surviving are a son, Ronald M. Beck of Washington; two daughters, Marlene G. (Donald) Knestrick and Sharon (Timothy) Burchett, both of Washington; five grandchildren, Mark McFarland, Brian and Ryan Beck, Courtney and Amanda Burchett; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are seven brothers, Sherman, Harry, Raymond, Cecil, Willard, James and William; and three sisters, Mary Plants, Elsie Beck and Blanche Cook.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 2, with the Rev. Michael Roach officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to Trinity Bible Fellowship, 1350 Park Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
