Edith Evelyn Riethmiller

Member of Churchof the Covenant. Edith Evelyn Riethmiller, 81, of Washington, died Tuesday, October 11, 2005, in Evergreen Assisted Living, Washington, following a lengthy illness. She was born August 7, 1924, in Washington, a daughter of John Andrew and Elizabeth "Tootie" Kirschenbauer Wheatley. Mrs. Riethmiller was a member of Church of the Covenant and worked as a clerk in the catalog department at J.C. Penney Co. for more than 20 years. On December 15, 1946, she married Paul Milton Riethmiller, who died January 27, 1997. Surviving are four grandchildren, Janell Lynn Ostrander, Melanie Rae Ostrander, Ashley Marie Ostrander and Bridgett Riethmiller; a great-grandchild, Taytum Alexa Riethmiller; and a son-in-law, Eugene Ostrander of Washington. Deceased are a son, Alan Paul Riethmiller; a daughter, Belinda E. "Boots" Ostrander; and a brother, John G. Wheatley. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 15, with the Rev. Kenneth Schott officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
