Theodore Robert Greer Sr., 78, of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of Washington, died Monday, October 24, 2005, in his home following a two-year illness. He was born May 18, 1927, in Washington, a son of Theodore R. and Olive White Greer. Mr. Greer was Protestant. He worked for Duncan-Miller in Washington before working for Jessop Steel for 30 years. He was a member of the Army's 796th Company C Military Police from December 3, 1945, to March 31, 1947. Mr. Greer enjoyed riding bicycles and bicycled all over Florida. He also enjoyed football, camping and being outdoors. He loved his pet toy poodle, Ginger. Prior to moving to Florida more than 20 years ago, he was a member of Moose, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post 175. While in Florida, he was a VFW member. On March 31, 1967, he married Shirley Jeanne Couts, who survives. Also surviving are five sons, Theodore Robert Greer Jr. and Jon E. Greer, both of Clearwater, Norman A. Baker of Washington, Dennis L. Baker of Katonah, N.Y., and David W. Baker of Washington; two daughters, Sherry M. Lane and Brenda S. Cates, both of Clearwater; two brothers, Charles and Terry Greer, both of Washington; four sisters, Patty Shuba of Lebanon and Lillian Frabel, Fern Wheeler and Shirley Anderson, all of Washington; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A great-grandchild is deceased.
