Irene C. Baer, 82, of Washington, died at 1:05 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2005, in her home.
She was born June 21, 1923, in Natrona, a daughter of John and Mary Grzywienski Markoski.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She had been a lab technician at Ball Glass and Metro Glass for 28 years. She retired in September 1982.
She was a member of AARP; Glass, Moulders, Pottery and Plastic No. 8; and Allied Workers International Union No. 272, which was formerly GBBA Local 625.
She graduated from Washington High School in June 1941.
On March 16, 1941, she was united in marriage to Bernard (Bud) Wiles Baer, who died March 21, 1993.
Surviving are two brothers, Edward Markoski of Washington and Leonard Markoski of Cheswick; a sister, Jane Gregor of Industry; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her stepfather, Alex Komorowski; three sisters, Laura Polczynski, Sophia Sicilia and Dorothy Olszewski; and a brother, William Markoski.
Friends will be received by the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, October 10, in Immaculate Conception Church, with the Rev. Nicholas Spirko as celebrant, followed by interment in Washington Cemetery.
