Anne Wootton, formerly of Washington, died on Monday, September 5, 2005,
in Indiana, Pa., where she had made her home since 2001. She was born in
Langeloth, Pa. to Marko and Barbara (Radinich) Kovacic, on August 17,
1915. She was a 1933 graduate of Cecil High School, and a member of
Laboratory Presbyterian Church, where she served on the Diaconate,
Choir, Presbyterian Women’s Association, Sunday School, and other
committees over the years. Her church was the focus of her life.
She married Richard W. Walker on December 21, 1939. Later, she married
Alfred Wootton on June 29, 1974.
Mrs. Wootton was employed by the Laboratory, Patton and Windsor Schools
as a cafeteria worker for several years. She was well known for her
delicious pies and baked goods.
She is survived by one daughter, Deanna, and her husband James
Garrettson, of Indiana, PA; two sons, Donald R. Walker of Vineland, NJ
and William R. Walker and wife Donna (Passo) of Flat Rock, Michigan;
former daughter-in-law Carol Lieber of Bridgeton, NJ; three
step-children, Art Wootton and wife Faye of Valley City, OH, Carol
Hricks and husband Paul of Highland Heights, OH and Enoch Wootton and
wife Sandy of North Huntington, PA; eight grandchildren, twelve
step-grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and
step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Catherine
Nelson of Florida; two brothers, Peter Kovacic and Stephen Kovacic, both
of California; seven nieces and eight nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Richard (Snap) Walker on April
12, 1959, and Al Wootton on October 29, 1991; two brothers, John and
Michael Kovacic; one sister, Helen Jensen, and a granddaughter,
Christine Garrettson.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, in the William G. Neal
Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden St, Washington, PA 15301. Services will
be held in the Laboratory Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 9, 2005, at 10:30 am, Rev. David Stammerjohn officiating. Burial Will follow Evergreen Cemetery,
Leechburg, PA. The family requests memorial donations be made to;
