Edythe Jane Wolfe

Member of Wolfdale Bible Chapel. Edythe Jane Wolfe, 88, of Washington, died Monday, January 30, 2006, in Humbert Lane Health Care Centre, Washington, following a seven-year illness. She was born May 12, 1917, in Washington, a daughter of Randall and Catherine Conklin Roupe. Mrs. Wolfe was a member of Wolfdale Bible Chapel. She worked in the laundry at Howard Johnson's Motel on West Chestnut Street, Washington, for four years. During World War II, she worked in a grenade plant. Her first husband, Hugh R. Gongaware, is deceased. She later married John R. Wolfe, who also is deceased. Surviving are two sons, Hugh R. "Ronnie" (Joann) Gongaware of Goodyear, Ariz., and Chuck (Gwen) Gongaware of Washington; a brother, Keith Roupe of Washington; three sisters, Leona Phillips of Washington, Garnet Stuhler of Dunedin, Fla., and Lois Friend of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Steve, Kelly and Brandon Gongaware, Shannon Pless, Blaze, Jamie and Courtney Gongaware and Janna and John (Andy) Harris; and nine great-grandchildren. Deceased are 4 brothers, Merle, Gleason, Allen and Randall Roupe, and 2 sisters, Gladys Taylor and Pearl Ramsey Williams. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 2, with the Rev. Fred Helmick officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
