Emma Rock

November 27, 1924 — September 14, 2005

Emma Rock, 80, of Washington, died unexpectedly in the Washington Hospital Emergency Room, on Wednesday, September 14, 2005. She was born in Washington on November 27, 1924, a daughter of John and Helen Pizner Rock. Ms. Rock had attended Trinity High School and worked at various local stores including Montgomery Wards prior to working more than twenty-five years at Hickson’s Office Supply before retirement. She enjoyed sports and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers on television. Additionally, she faithfully played the Pennsylvania Lottery. Surviving are a brother, Andrew Rock of Washington; several nieces and nephews, including, Rebecca Los, Helen Strnisha, Mary Ann Datema, Mark and Paul R. Rock. Preceding her in death are three brothers, Michael, John and Paul Rock; as well as three sisters, Helen Krantz, Mary Brower, and Ann Passo. Friends of Emma Rock, 80, of Washington, who died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 14, 2005, will be received on Friday from 6 to 9 pm in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a Blessing service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2005, at 10:00 am, Rev. Joseph Jugan officiating. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery. The family is requesting memorial donations be made to the Building Fund at St. Michael’s Byzntine Catholic Church, 166 East College Street, Canonsburg.
