Sandra (Sandy) K. Appleby

Sandra (Sandy) K. Appleby, 57, of Washington, died Thursday, November 13, 2008, in Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness. She was born May 6, 1951, in Washington, a daughter of Theodore R. and Evelyn Briggs Appleby. Ms. Appleby graduated from Trinity High School in 1969. Her faith was Protestant. For twenty-five years, she worked at St. Francis Hospital, in Pittsburgh, as a nurse’s aide. Ms. Appleby enjoyed reading, cooking and knitting; and was a great Kenny Chesney fan. She enjoyed caring for people and was a cat lover. Surviving are a sister, Karen Appleby Stainbrook; several nephews and nieces; and great nephews and nieces; and cousins. Deceased are two brothers, Ronald B. and Donald Appleby. Friends will be received Sunday, November 16, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the hour of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, with Rev. David Harner officiating. Private burial in Pigeon Creek Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
