Harry J. Fox, 79, of Washington, died at 1:15 AM on Friday, May 4, 2007 in the Washington Hospital following a lingering illness.
He was born May 7, 1927, in Butler, a son of the late Harry M. and Margie Nemo Fox.
He was a U. S. Army veteran who served with the 18th Infantry stationed in Frankfort, Germany during World War II. He received the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Mr. Fox attended Immaculate Conception High School. After his discharge from the Army, he graduated from Taylor Alderdice High School in Pittsburgh.
He was a salesman for Sears Roebuck for 33 years, retiring in 1989. After his retirement, he was a Realtor Associate for Dial Realty for several years.
On September 28, 1973, he married Mary Ann Osso, who survives.
Also surviving are three children; Thomas Fox and his wife Barbara of Winchester, Virginia; Susan Fox Morgan and her husband David of Washington, and Lisa Fox-Hawranko and her husband James of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren Thomas, Hilary and Kyra Fox of Winchester, Virginia; Angela Porter and her husband Robert of Pittsburgh, and Kelly Neal and her husband Christopher of Washington; and two great grandchildren Jacob Neal of Washington and Hunter Lichliter of Winchester, Virginia, a brother Gerald Fox and his wife Pat of Virginia Beach, Virginia; four sisters, Nancy Rocco and her husband James of Peters Township; Joan Resciniti of Washington; Shirley Amos of McMurray and Barbara Tomsic and her husband Joseph of Mt. Lebanon; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Jack Fox, and two sisters, Doris Guidas and Marjorie Joyce Horne, and his beloved dog, Hennessy.
Friends will be received Sunday from 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 1-3 and 5-9 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington (724-225-8122). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 in St. Hilary Church, Washington, with Father Thomas O’Neal as celebrant. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
