Janet E. Headley

Janet E. Headley, 85, of Washington, died November 3, 2008, in Washington County Heath Center, following a lengthy illness. She was born February 12, 1923, in Washington, the daughter of Dore O. and Nora Pearle Dentzer Headley. Ms. Headley graduated from Washington High School in 1941. She worked for the Community Chest, Washington County Insurance Company, Washington office of Celina Financial Corporation, of Celina, Ohio from 1967 – 1984, and retired from there when the office closed. She was an active member of the Avery United Methodist Church for over 60 years, holding various offices. She was the historian for many years, a volunteer for the community circle pantry, and sang in the church choir over 50 years. She enjoyed the “Sew What’s”, who made lap robes and dish cloths. Ms. Headley enjoyed her family and friends, also knitting, traveling, photography and music. Surviving is a brother, Gerald (Charlotte) Headley, of Williamsburg, VA., a niece Karen (Tony) Dranzo, nephews, Richard (Carolyn), Robert (Melba), Dave, William (Cathy) and Gerald (Beverly) McVay, Harold, Ted (Darlene), David (Jackie) Headley, Keith, Duane, Gary, and Bruce Headley; several great nieces and nephews, and her adopted family, the Aybar’s, Johnson (Aylin), Tyjen, John and Guye. Deceased are a sister, Freda Faye McVay and two brothers, Jesse V. Headley and Paul K. “Bud” Headley. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 15, 2008, at 1:00 p.m., at the Avery United Methodist Church. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
