Paul R. Cox, 71, of Washington, died Friday, September 9, 2005, in the Presbyterian Medical Center, following a twenty-two year illness.
He was born in Washington, a son of Thomas Paul and Lucy Fedis Cox, on August 22, 1934.
Mr. Cox was a Korean War Veteran and served two terms with the National Guard. He worked for thirty years at Jessop Steel Corporation as a Pickler.
He was an avid sports fan and had enjoyed playing dart ball for the Jessop Club, of which he was a member. Additionally, he belonged to the Edwin Scott Linton Post # 175 American Legion.
On August 7, 1954, he married Laura Lee Engle who survives. Also surviving are a son, Kurtis Paul Cox of Claysville; a brother, Donald Cox of Eighty-Four; two sisters, Shirley Craig and Carol Sharp, both of Washington; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a son, Clayton Cox; and a brother Thomas G. Cox.
Friends of Paul R. Cox, 71, of Washington, who died Friday, September 9, 2005, will be received on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, the time of services, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
