Wodea Solomon Williamson

Wodea Solomon Williamson, 91, of Washington, died on Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at her residence, in the loving arms of her adopted daughter, Nora Edgar. She had been in declining health She was born on August 25, 1917, in Waynesburg, PA, a daughter of Charles and Julia A. Deeb Solomon. Mrs. Williamson worked for 18 years as the secretary in the Payroll Department at the Washington Hospital. She had also worked for 5 years with top-secret clearance, at the Department of Defense, during World War II in Washington, D.C. She was a long time member of Fairhill Manor Christian Church. She belonged to the Washington Senior Center and the Lady Hogue Rebecca Lodge. Mrs. Williamson graduated from Washington High School in January, 1936, and was a graduate of Penn Commercial College. In May, 1945, she married Leonard Lewis “Caboose” Williamson, Sr., who died on November 29, 1982. Surviving are 4 sons, Leonard L. Williamson, Jr., Charles B. (Carol L.) Williamson, John C. (Carol) Williamson and Michael R. (Georgetta) Williamson, all of Washington; 7 grandchildren, Leonard, Jeffrey, Michael, Chad and Paige Williamson; Michael Breese and Jennifer Vitelli; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a sister, Mary Lloyd, and 4 brothers, Abraham, Michael, Samuel C., and John Solomon. Visitation will be from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2008, with Rev. David Mansfield officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
