Betty Margaret Baumgardner, 80, of Washington, died on Saturday, August 20, 2005, in her home following a lengthy illness. She was born in Washington on June 4, 1925, a daughter of Jacob and Nellie Marie Grey Loar. Mrs. Baumgardner was a home maker, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine. On November 12, 1954, she married Charles M. Baumgardner, who died on February 26, 2001. Surviving are four sons, Kenneth ( Rebecca )Bonnell and Brian ( Brenda ) Baumgardner, both of Washington, David ( Julie )Baumgardner of Canonsburg, and Larry ( Laura ) Baumgardner of San Francisco, California; a daughter, Doris ( Lonnie ) Nicholls of Eighty-Four; the following grandchildren, Scott Bonnell, Kelly Bonnell-McCormick, Lonnie Nicholls, Jr., Jacqueline Andrews, Amy, Chelsey, Larry, Robert, and Regina Baumgardner, Stan and Keith Grabiak; as well as eleven great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are two brothers, Harlan and Floyd “ Barney “ Loar; three sisters, Wilma Grechowsky, Mildred Baer, and Louise McKenzie Ortega. Friends of Betty Margaret Baumgardner, of Washington, who died on Saturday, August 20, 2005, will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2005, at 11:00 am, burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. The family is requesting memorial donations be made to: Donnell House, Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301 or The American Heart Association.
