James Russell Robison, 72, of Clarksville, died Monday, September 1, 2008, in the Wheeling Hospital following a short illness.
Mr. Robison was born in Morris Township, Greene County, on May 31, 1936, a son of Henry Reese and Inez Myrtle Ullom Robison Sr.
He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army as a Heavy Vehicle Driver in Germany. While in the Army, Mr. Russell received the Good Conduct Medal.
Prior to retirement, he worked more than twenty-six years at Chartiers Supply, later known as Cameloy. Also, he was a farmer throughout his life.
He was a member of the Silar-Sadlak Post # 954, American Legion.
On August 10, 1963, he married Sara Lee Avolia who survives. Also surviving are three sons, James Russell ( Esther ) Robison, Jr., Jan Henry Robison, and Joseph Anthony Robison, all of Clarksville; a daughter Ida M. ( Logan ) Boone of St. Clairsville, Ohio; a brother Charles Amos Robison of Washington; three sisters, Estella Mae Morris of Sycamore, Margaret R. Rice of Graysville, and Betty Lee Dougherty of Washington; six grandchildren, Brittany, Ty, Sara, Logan IV, Bobby, and Cole.
Preceding him in death are four brothers, Henry Jr., John Joseph, Jessie Calvin, and Harley Eugene Robison.
Friends of James Russell Robison, 72, of Clarksville, who died Monday, September 1, 2008, will be received on Wednesday, from 7 to 9 PM and Thursday, from 2 to 9 PM, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held on Friday, September 5, 2008, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Horn Cemetery. Full military honors graveside by Silar-Sadlak Post # 954, American Legion.
