Helen Louise Sloane

Member of West Finley women's and friendship clubs. Helen Louise Sloane, 76, of Claysville, died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2005, in Donnell House, Washington, following a two-month illness. She was born September 15, 1928, in McKeesport, a daughter of George and Alice Fechter Loeffler. Mrs. Sloane graduated from Irwin High School. She was a homemaker who enjoyed baking and bingo. Mrs. Sloane was a member of Evangelical Congregational Church of McKeesport, West Finley Women's Club and West Finley Friendship Club. On July 17, 1948, she married Thomas Sloane, who died April 17, 1990. Surviving are four sons, Thomas Dale Sloane of Highland, Calif., Terry Duane Sloane of Morgantown, W.Va., Timothy Dean Sloane of Claysville and Todd D. Sloane of Frostburg, Md.; seven grandchildren, Dawn Marie Sloane Harmon, Kawana Ibarra, Adam Sloane, Sara Sloane, Zachary Sloane, Jena Sloane and Sherrie Sloane; and six great-grandchildren. Deceased, in addition to her husband, are two brothers, George Loeffler Jr. and Charles Loeffler; and two grandchildren, Thomas Sloane and Romana Villaverde. Friends will be received from noon to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, with the Rev. Robert Hedges officiating. Interment in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, Westmoreland County. Memorial contributions may be made to Donnell House, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301.
