King Edward Lacock, 92, of Washington, died at 6:34 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2005, in his residence. Although he was in declining health, his death was unexpected. He was born July 2, 1913, in Columbus, Ohio, a son of Herbert R. and Ocelena Fisher Lacock. Mr. Lacock was a graduate of Washington High School and attended post-graduate classes at Washington Business College. He retired from Washington Mould Machine & Foundry, where he worked as a machinist for 40 years. Previously, he worked at Washington Tin Plate Co. and at a defense plant in Canonsburg. He was a 50-year member of International Association of Machinists Union. Mr. Lacock had a lifelong self-taught interest in radio, electronics, television and computers. He and his wife, Rose Marie Bieda Lacock, celebrated 68 years of marriage. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Patti J. Lacock of Washington; two brothers-in-law, Michael (Mary Jane) Bieda and Robert Hartzell, both of Washington; and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Mary M. Lacock Merlo, is deceased.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, with the Rev. Kenneth N. Schott officiating.
