Samuel Evans

Samuel Evans, 80, of Washington, died Tuesday, February 5, 2008, in Washington County Health Center. He was born May 24, 1927, in Washington, a son of Cedar and Catherine Cole Evans. Mr. Evans worked in the dietary department at The Washington Hospital. He once played dart ball for the Slovak Club. Mr. Evans was Greek Orthodox. On November 26, 1961, he married Ruth Emily Johnson, who died February 21, 1989. Surviving are a son, Robert Evans; one sister, Rita Jenkins, of Washington; one grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two sons, Joseph Evans and Samuel Evans, Jr.; six brothers, William R., Michael, Richard, who was killed in action during World War II, Charles, Harry and Fred Evans; and three sisters, Lillian Cecil, Nettie Charnesky and Anna Carrow. There will be no public visitation or services.
