Longtime member of Jefferson Avenue UM Church
Sylvia Landrey Bonenberger, 83, of Washington, died Monday, May 17, 2004, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington.
She was born July 26, 1920, in Washington, a daughter of Arthur E. and Kathryn Penrose Landrey.
Mrs. Bonenberger was employed as a clerk at McKinley Jewelry Store prior to marriage.
While living in Washington, she was a longtime member of Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church.
She was a 1937 honors graduate of Trinity High School.
On August 20, 1947, with the Rev. Robert Stahl, her husband's uncle, she married Robert Eugene Bonenberger, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Paul Robert of Rochester, Mich., David Louis of Minneapolis, Minn., and Dr. Howard John Bonenberger of Amherst, N.H.; a daughter, Lynne Marie Bonenberger of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Dorothy Scott and Margaret Redd, both of Washington; and five grandchildren, Paul Andrew, Garrett Kane, Neal Landrey and Grace Elizabeth and Elise M. Bonenberger.
A brother, Arthur P. Landrey, is deceased.
BONENBERGER - Friends of Sylvia Landrey Bonenberger of Washington, who died Monday, May 17, 2004, will be received 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, May 21, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 4 p.m. with the Rev. John Hoffman officiating. Interment will be in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Family Hospice and Pallative Care, Suite 203, 250 Mt.
