Thomas L. Ulery, 89, of Claysville, died at 6:45 a.m Tuesday, March 27, 2007, in Donnell House, Washington. He had been in declining health. He was born December 27, 1917, in Washington, a son of Eli George and Madeline Sayre Ulery. Mr. Ulery attended Trinity High School and was a member of Fairhill Manor Christian Church. Mr. Ulery was a former elder and deacon at the church. He worked as a glassworker at Hazel Atlas 2 for 30 years and Metro Glass for 11 years. He also worked at Fort Bridge Works for four years. Mr. Ulery enjoyed hunting, golfing and doing small engine repair. On August 31, 1941, he married Grace Carson, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Thomas Ulery and wife Pam of Washington and James Ulery and wife Marlena of Claysville; a sister, Ida Mae "Snookey" Ulery of Hallendale, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Caleb, and his wife, Heather, and daughter, Isabella; Azure, Shelva and Shyleigh Ulery. Deceased are two sisters, Dorothy McBride and Blanche Anderson; and a half brother, James E. Ulery.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 30, with the Rev. Dr. David Mansfield officiating.
