Retired Washington Hospital nurse's aide.
Anna Pauline McDaid, 94, of Washington, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, January 30, 2005, in Presbyterian Medical Center, following a four-year illness. She was born April 19, 1910, in New Freeport, a daughter of Perry and Emma Phillips Watson. She was a member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Eighty Four. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a nurse's aide at Washington Hospital. She enjoyed reading. On August 19, 1965, she married Joseph McDaid, who died in 1983. Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Lee and husband Melvin Carl of Washington; two grandchildren, Mary Ann and husband Jay Crawford and Melvin Carl Jr.; and a great-grandson, J. J. Crawford. Deceased are four brothers, George, John, Ralph and James Watson; and three sisters, Helen McQuay, Mary Boyan and Alice Craig.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. Rob W. Shoup officiating. Interment will be held in Washington Cemetery. Arrangements are under direction of William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
