Helen M. McDaniel, 80, of Washington, died at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2005, in the emergency room of Washington Hospital. She had been in declining health for the past year. She was born October 23, 1924, in Royalton, a daughter of Charles and Martha Neidig Mocklin. Mrs. McDaniel was Protestant, was a homemaker and was a former member of Auxiliary of Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting and visiting the Hawaiian islands. On September 21, 1946, she married Robert L. McDaniel Jr., who survives. Also surviving are two sons, James (Paula) McDaniel of Washington and Daniel "Luke" McDaniel of Clarksville; a daughter, Susan (Edward) Bonus of Washington; five grandchildren, Nathan Lazaar McDaniel, Michael Edward Bonus, James Keith McDaniel, Emily Jean McDaniel Bland and Lucas Daniel McDaniel; and two great-grandchildren, Ezekiel Shine McDaniel and Michael Rocco Bonus.
Deceased are a son, Robert Charles "Offy" McDaniel; and a brother, Robert Mocklin.
Friends will be recieved from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service, Saturday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
