Anna Barbara Brown, 93, of Washington, died at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, January 23, 2005, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington, following a yearlong illness. She was born December 4, 1911, in Manifold, a daughter of Steve and Julia Chico Megyesy. A homemaker, she was a member of Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, Meadow Lands, and a charter member of its Christian Mothers. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards and bingo. On February 16, 1929, she married Frank E. Brown, who died January 30, 1988. Surviving are a son, Frank E. Brown Jr. of Washington; three grandchildren, Linda Lee Brown Amon, Paula Loraine Davey and Cheryl Brown; and six great-grandchildren, Corey Brown, Cara Brown, Frank A. Brown Jr., Ryan Davey, Kathleen Davey and Morgan Davey. Deceased are a son, George W. Brown; a grandson, Frank A. Brown; a granddaughter, Terry Brown; a great-grandson, Douglas Bryan Amon Jr.; two brother, John and Steve Megyesy; and three sister, Elizabeth Chirik, Julia Hochkraut and Stella Cartwright. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 26, in Miraculous Medal Church, Meadow Lands, with the Rev. John O'Shea as celebrant. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray. Christian Mothers will say a rosary at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Miraculous Medal Church.
