Furlo Lloyd Ellis, 39, of Washington, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, February 20, 2008.
He was born April 27, 1968, in Columbus, Ohio, a son of Alice Francene Ellis of Washington and the late Milton Waverly Short.
Mr. Ellis was a graduate of Washington High School, where he was a member of the 1984 and 1986 state championship basketball teams.
He was a sports fan and enjoyed being with his family, whom he loved very much.
On March 15, 2001, he married Beatrice “Bea” Thomas, who survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Heather Thomas of St. Paul, Minnesota, Lana Thomas, Tori Thomas and Summer Thomas, all of Washington; eight brothers, Anthony Ellis and Justin Coney, both of Washington, Darwin Short of McKeesport, DeVille Short of Greensburg, Brandon Short of McKeesport, Steven Coney of Harrisburg, Troy Coney of Pittsburgh, and Todd Coney of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, McKenna Thomas and Troy Terrell-Thomas; his step-father, William P. Coney, Jr., of Washington; six nieces, Brittany, Taylor, Haylea, Melissa, Mecca and Mahogany; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends will be received Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m., the hour of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor William Burgess officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Safe Haven, 240 North College Street, Washington, PA 15301.
