Clara E. Staley Mullins, 72, of Washington, died Saturday, March 6 , 2004 in Humbert Lane Health Care Center. She was born in Greene County on February 4, 1932, a daughter of William S. and Erma Glover Simms. She was a home maker and enjoyed crafts & sewing.
On September 6, 1956, she married Samuel Lee Staley who died on December 28, 1979.
Surviving are five sons, John and Bryan Staley both of Gibsonton, Florida; Roy Staley of Appolo, William Staley of Washington, and James Staley of West Palm Beach; three daughters, Karen Briggs of Washington, Nancy Robl of Lone Pine, and Dorothy Douglas of Kissimmee, Florida; two brothers, William and Lester Simms both of Washington; two sisters, Hazel Chapman of Claysville and Marlene Marshall of Washington; fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are two sisters, Ramona Thomas and Annie Shephard; two brothers, Clinton and Jerry Simms.
Friends of Clara E. Staley Mullins, of Washington, will be received on Monday from 7 to 9 PM and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at 11:00 am with the Rev. David Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
