John J. Carlisle

April 28, 1915 — March 6, 2004

John J. Carlisle, 88, of Washington, died Saturday, March 6, 2004 in the Presbyterian Medical Center after having been in declining health for several months. He was born in Imperial on April 28, 1915, a son of William and Myrtle L. Haskins Carlisle. Mr. Carlisle was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School. He was a member of the Elks. Mr. Carlisle was retired from Jessop Steel Corporation and had worked as a Supervisor for more than 38 years. On June 20, 1941 he married Marion Allender who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Michael Carlisle of Alburtis and Joseph Carlisle of Washington; a daughter Judith A. Walz of Washington; a sister; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Jennifer, Amy, Melissa, Megan, Andrew, and Sam; and five great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are six brothers; a sister; and two grandchildren, Emily and Sarah. Friends of John J. Carlisle will be received from 4 to 8 PM Monday in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at 10:00 am in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Washington. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. The family request that donations be made to; McGuire House, 219 Mercer Road, New Brighton, PA , which may be done at www.MemorialDonations.com
