Theodore John Grudi, 88, of Washington, died at 12:15 a.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2004, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington.He was born November 28, 1915, in Braddock, a son of Andrew and Anna O'Pata Grudi.
Mr. Grudi was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church in Washington.
He retired from the U.S. Army after 28 and a half years active duty and reserve time, having served during World War II and the Korean War.
Mr. Grudi was employed by Hazel Atlas and Commercial Can and last worked as a security guard for Plasteel.
He was a member of Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 American Legion and the Pulaski Club.
On April 27, 1935, he married Susan Alice Jurkovsky, who died March 27, 1999.
Surviving are a son, Raymond Grudi of Canonsburg; a daughter, Josephine Jeffries of Washington; a brother, Edward Grudi of Washington; a sister, Elizabeth "Libby" Manion of Bethel Park; six grandchildren, Ray Grudi Jr., Diana Kemp, Lisa Coffield and Steven, Jeffrey and Brian Grudi; and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to his wife, are four brothers, Walter, Frank, Henry and John Grudi; and two sisters, Helen Bonus and Josephine Zak.
GRUDI - Friends of Theodore John Grudi of Washington, who died Tuesday, March 2, 2004, will be recieved from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 6, with the Rev. Thomas D. O'Neil officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens Cemetery, McMurray.
