Philip Felix Marcin, 94, of Washington, died Tuesday, September 16, 2008, in his residence at Hawthorne Woods.
He was born November 12, 1913, in Shamokin, a son of Matthew and Frances Sharolis Marcin.
Mr. Marcin was very mechanical and worked in the plastics industry for more than 40 years.
He enjoyed gardening and growing pumpkins and gourds, and one of his favorite hobbies was making pet rocks for everyone he knew.
Mr. Marcin was a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church.
His wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Wilma Resko, died April 23, 2005.
Surviving are two sons, Philip James (Lois) Marcin of Marianna and Christopher C. (Rose Anne) Marcin of Freehold, New Jersey; two sisters, Eleanor Brown of Cold Springs Harbor, New York and Lillian Herring of Danbury, Connecticut; five grandchildren, Jennifer Marcin, Amanda Smith, Cynthia Marcin, Holly Anne Demeritt and Christie Anne Kouvel; and four great-grandchildren, Loren Smith, Morgan Smith, Christopher Demeritt and Kaitlyn Demeritt.
Deceased are two brothers, Bill and Joseph; and two sisters, Alberta Jacobs and Mary Stone.
Private burial was held in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Memorial contributions may be made to St. David’s Building Fund, 905 East McMurray Road., Venetia PA 15367. Arrangements were entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., Washington.
