Shirley Ann Mathot, 64, of Washington, died September 15, 2008, in her home. She had been ill since October 2006.
She was born May 17, 1944, in Washington, a daughter of the late William George Woods and Lillian M. Stenger.
Mrs. Mathot graduated from Washington High School and was a member of Houston United Methodist Church. She was very active with Relay For Life.
Mrs. Mathot was employed at Foodland, and most recently Giant Eagle, for a total of 15 years.
On November 23, 1977, she married Glenn W. Mathot, who died January 4, 1996.
Surviving are a son, Dave Kaufmann, and a daughter, Sherri Hull, both of Washington; three brothers, William Woods, of Parma, OH, Jerry Woods, of Amity, and Fred Woods, of Washington; four sisters, Lillian March and Alyce Harter, both of Washington, Diane Hughes, of Eighty-Four, and Sandy LaSalvia, of Washington; and three grandchildren, David Hull, Jr., Ashley Hull, and Emma Crispin.
Deceased are her first husband, Charles W. Kaufman, a brother, John Woods, and a sister, Nancy Christman.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 19, with Pastor Sang Kong Choi officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society, Relay For Life, 331 South Main Street, Washington, PA 15301.
