Wilburt Floyd Slider Jr., 61, of Washington, died at 1:47 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2005, in his home, following a lengthy illness. He was born July 24, 1943, in Washington, a son of the late Wilburt Floyd Sr. and Martha Phillips Allen Slider. Mr. Slider attended Trinity High School and worked as a security guard at Gaylords department store. He enjoyed working on cars and wood carving. On August 8, 1964, he married Mary Margaret Hutter, who survives. Also surviving are five sons, Robert Slider of Washington, Chris Slider of Greensburg, David Slider of Erie and Joey and Scott Slider, both of Washington; two daughters, Helena Fisher of Washington and Jodi Valentine of Belle Vernon; a brother, McKinley Slider of Buffalo Village; two sisters, Henrietta Haskey of Washington and Helen Wylie of Florida; and 25 grandchildren. Deceased is a son, Russell Carl Slider.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 18, with the Rev. Frank Menhart officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
