James Winson Loar, 73, of Newark, Ohio, formerly Claysville, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008, in Arlington Nursing Home, Newark, after several years of failing health.
He had been a resident of Arlington Nursing Home for the last 12 years.
He was born May 27, 1934, in Washington, a son of the late Russell Loar and Hannah Shrader Montgomery.
For 25 years, Mr. Loar worked as a mechanic for Washington Used Parts.
He was Protestant.
Surviving are three sons, James R. (Becky) Loar, William R. (Diane Barnhart) Loar, and Harold E. (Joann) Loar; two daughters, Mary E. (Roger) Phillips and Hannah M. Loar; one brother, Harold Montgomery; two sisters, Frances Bennett and Helen Amons; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Deceased are his wife, Mary Ann Fonner Loar; a grandson, William J. “B.J.” Loar; and a sister, Lucy Zediker.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11: 00 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2008. Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery.
