Audrey Bennet, 87, of Tullahoma, Tenn., formerly of Washington, died Monday, July 4, 2005, in Life Care Center in Tullahoma. She was born August 4, 1917, in East Orange, N.J., a daughter of Thomas J. and Florence C. Silk Roberts. Mrs. Bennet was a member of Church of the Covenant and a high school graduate and had taken several classes at Penn State for real estate. She was a bookkeeper and a real estate broker. She and her husband, Henry P. (Hank) Bennet, opened Bennet Real Estate in 1960. She operated it until 1980. Mrs. Bennet and her husband were both Arthur Murray Dance teachers and led the grand march at the Charity Ball. On June 10, 1939, she married Henry P. (Hank) Bennet, who died September 21, 1971. Surviving are a son, Thomas Henry Bennet of Tullahoma; two daughters, Gale (Edward) Ashworth of Webster, N.Y., and Pamela (John) Toth of Washington; seven grandchildren, Laura, Dianna, Heidi, Robert, Rebecca, Elizabeth and Thomas; and 11 great-grandchildren. Deceased is a grandson, Stephen Henry Toth.
Private services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Washington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
