Dwight James Burns, 90, of Pittsburgh, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, in his home following a lengthy illness. He was born in Wind Ridge, on October 28, 1914, a son of Ray Lawrence and Blanche Taylor Burns. Mr. Burns was a graduate of Rich Hill Township Schools and received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University. He worked as a Supervising Electrical Engineer at Westinghouse Electric. He was a member of the Laboratory Presbyterian Church.
On August 30, 1941, he married Dolores Louise Lockwood, who died on August 19, 1986.
On October 3, 1987, He married Gwendolyn Poulicos, who died in February, 1998.
Surviving are a son, David L. Burns and his wife, Jeanie, of State College; two daughters, Sheron B. Hunter, and her husband Frank, of Whitehall, and Sondra B. Lutz and her husband Robert, of Elkton, Maryland; three grandchildren, Sherri Williams, Scott Hunter, and Matthew Burns.
Preceding him in death is a sister, Jane Moore.
Friends of Dwight James Burns, 90, of Pittsburgh, who died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, will be received on Thursday,, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held on Friday, March 4, 2005 at 11:00 am, Rev. C. J. Williams officiating.
