Former sales clerk for Towers Jewelry.
Lois Jean Clayton, 74, of Avella, died at 1:10 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008, in Canonsburg General Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
She was born July 17, 1933, in Claysville, a daughter of William W. and Myrtle Cunningham Miller.
Mrs. Clayton attended Claysville High School and once worked as a sales clerk at Towers Jewelry in Washington.
She was the last of her immediate family.
On September 11, 1952, she married David Alvin Clayton Sr., who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, David A. Clayton Jr. and Paul W. Clayton, both of Avella, and Matthew W. (Stacey) Clayton of Houston; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Charles "Dig" Miller and Robert Miller.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, with Pastor Floyd Marasco officiating. Interment will follow in Upper Buffalo Church Cemetery, Avella. The family requests donations to Taylorstown Christian Church, Main Street, Taylorstown, PA 15365.
