Maxine Lucile Johns, 83, of Washington, died Thursday, July 3, 2008.
She was born February 7, 1925, in Kunhtown, a daughter of Carson Leroy and Ida P. Wise Stewart.
Mrs. Johns worked as a clerk at Wal-Mart for 15 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and enjoyed playing the piano and sewing.
On October 4, 1951, she married Boots Johns, who died June 20, 1991.
Surviving are two sons, William D. (Dolly) Garber of Washington and Robert L. (Cathy) Johns of Laverne, California; two sisters, Elinor McClelland and Opal (Merle) Strope, both of Washington; two grandchildren, Michael and Jeff Johns; two step-grandchildren, Tracey and Amber; and several great-grandchildren.
Deceased are one brother, Carson Leroy Stewart, Jr., and a sister, Jessie Mae Stewart.
Friends will be received Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4o and 7 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where a blessing service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 7th, with Rev. John Bauer officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
