Kenneth Eugene Ammons, Sr., 85, of Claysville, died Thursday, July 3, 2008, in The Washington Hospital. He had been ill since January.
He was born May 14, 1923, in Claysville, a son of Carl and Della Meadville Ammons.
For 25 years, Mr. Ammons worked for the Claysville Water Company as a plant operator.
He enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
On January 23, 1965, he married Helen Montgomery, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Kenneth E. Ammons, Jr. of Waynesburg; and two brothers, Donald Ammons of Taylorstown and James R. Ammons of West Alexander.
Deceased are three brothers, Charles, Robert and Clair Ammons; and a sister, Dorothy Jean Ammons.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:00p.m. Monday, July 7th, with Rev. Meade Lacock officiating. Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to the family in care of the funeral home.
